Battambang: Battambang Provincial Governor H.E. Sok Lou today welcomed a new group of Cambodian migrant workers returning from Thailand. The workers crossed the border at the Daung International Border Checkpoint in Kamrieng district.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the welcome, Governor Sok Lou spoke with the returning workers, inquiring about their well-being and providing them with food and refreshments. He also directed local authorities, security forces, and other officials at the border to continue supporting and facilitating the repatriation process to ensure a smooth and safe return for all.
The returning workers expressed their relief and gratitude, encouraging other Cambodians still in Thailand to consider returning home for their own safety. They thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for the warm welcome and for arranging safe transportation to their hometowns.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Royal Government has shown a strong commitment to the safe return of its citizens, dispatching numerous vehicles to transport the returnees to their home provinces.
Various authorities, including the Battambang Provincial Administration, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, medical teams, and youth volunteers, have been coordinating efforts. They are providing essential services such as luggage assistance, health screenings, rest areas, food distribution, and consultations for the returnees.
