Phnom penh: Cambodia is a key beneficiary of the Global Fund, and continued support is vital to achieving its public health goals, including malaria elimination nationwide.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the statement was made by H.E. Dominic Williams, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Cambodia, while meeting here on Aug. 25 with Mr. Dr. Huy Rekol, Director of National Centre for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM), and his team to learn more about their work fighting malaria and other diseases in Cambodia.
The discussion focused on current challenges at the presence, future collaboration opportunities, and how the UK can continue to support their efforts through the Global Fund in particular, it continued.
The same source added that the UK has been a proud and long-term partner of the Global Fund since its founding in 2002, contributing over £5.5 billion to tackle HIV, TB, and malaria globally.
As the third-largest donor, the UK remains committed to strengthening health systems and saving lives, the embassy concluded.
