Cambodia and China Commit to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Tianjin: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, engaged in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, in Tianjin, China, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus Summit 2025. The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across various sectors.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussions highlighted the mutual determination to enhance collaboration between Cambodia and China. President Xi emphasized the significance of fostering closer ties and assured continued support to Cambodia in its development efforts and in maintaining national sovereignty.

Furthermore, H.E. Xi Jinping reiterated China's backing for the ceasefire between Cambodian and Thai armed forces. He also expressed China's support for the ASEAN ceasefire observation mechanism, led by Malaysia, and conveyed optimism for the early formation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
