Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, engaged in discussions with Ms. Yannick Lintz, Director of France's Guimet Museum of Asian Arts, to enhance bilateral cultural cooperation. The meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, marked the 4th session of the Permanent Committee co-chaired by the officials, focusing on the restoration and expansion of the National Museum of Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting's primary agenda was a comprehensive feasibility study aimed at the ambitious restoration and expansion of the National Museum of Cambodia. Discussions were centered on strategies to enhance the museum's architectural appeal and modernize the curation and presentation of its collections.
The initiative aims to improve the visitor experience, boosting the institution's appeal to both domestic and international audiences. The high-level talks included a delegation of 21 national and international heritage experts, highlighting the project's technical scope and the strong Franco-Cambodian partnership in preserving cultural heritage.
