Phnom penh: The Ministry of Commerce organized the Elimination Round of the Youth Debate Programme as part of the '2nd Cambodia Digital Commerce Forum and Online Expo,' focusing on 'Building Cambodia's Future Through Digital Commerce.' The event took place on September 8 and was presided over by H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Youth Debate Programme aims to foster dialogue and engagement among the younger generation, encouraging them to participate in and learn about digital commerce. This initiative is part of a broader effort to collaboratively build a smart digital future for Cambodia.
The Elimination Round featured four rounds of competition addressing various digital trade topics, including cyber-security, data privacy, regional competition, foreign tech investments, and domestic tech startups. Eight universities and institutes took part in the competition: the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), National University of Management (NUM), Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), ACLEDA Institute of Business (AIB), American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), BELTEI International University (BELTEI), Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech), and CamEd Business School (CamEd).
CamEd, AUPP, BELTEI, and CamTech emerged victorious in the Elimination Round and will advance to the semi-finals and finals. These rounds are set to take place on the afternoon of September 13, 2025, where the teams will compete for the championship.
