Phnom penh: Cambodia and Malaysia have engaged in discussions focusing on bilateral cooperation in digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. The aim is to strengthen collaboration in these sectors between the two nations.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussions were held between H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia, and H.E. Shaharuddin Onn, Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia. The meeting took place in Phnom Penh on August 8. H.E. Chea Vandeth announced his intention to lead a Cambodian delegation to the ASEAN summit on AI, which will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 11 to 12.
H.E. Chea Vandeth also expressed gratitude towards Malaysia for its role in facilitating solutions through the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, a process initiated by the U.S. with active involvement from China.
