Phnom Penh: The Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2025, themed "Accelerating ASEAN's Connectivity: People, Infrastructure, and Trade," was officially inaugurated this morning by Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia's dedication to promoting a resilient, sustainable, inclusive, and competitive ASEAN Economic Community. He pointed out infrastructure development, digital connectivity, and trade facilitation as essential drivers of regional economic growth and integration.
Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN-BAC Cambodia, remarked on the significance of the event amidst global uncertainty. He emphasized the shared commitment of governments and the private business sector to collaborate and find mutually beneficial solutions in a constructive atmosphere. This collaboration embodies the "ASEAN Way," which fosters regional strength and shields the community from global disruptions.
Neak Oknha Kith Meng noted ASEAN's projected GDP of US$10 trillion by 2030, positioning it as the world's fourth-largest economy. He encouraged businesses and foreign investors to consider Cambodia for its strategic location, improving infrastructure, and business-friendly government. The summit drew participation from 191 international companies and 124 local companies, totaling 510 participants.
