CRC President Visits and Encourages Border Troops in Oddar Meanchey

Oddar Meanchey: Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), visited and encouraged troops stationed along the border in Oddar Meanchey province on Mar. 5 afternoon, as part of a two-day (Mar. 5-6) humanitarian mission to the region. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was held at the 411th Battalion Headquarters of the 41st Infantry Brigade in Anlong Veng district. It was attended by notable figures such as H.E. General Kun Kim, Minister in charge of Special Mission and Head of Royal Government Working Group for Oddar Meanchey province, and H.E. General Hing Bun Heang, Commander of the Bodyguard Command. Senior officials and representatives from 40 border defence units were also present. In her address, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen expressed deep gratitude and admiration for the troops' dedication and patriotism in safeguarding Cambodia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. She acknowledged the sacrifices made by the soldiers, including prolonged separation from their families, to maintain peace and stability across the nation. As a gesture of support, the CRC President presented medals to five brigade commanders and provided financial assistance to the 40 border units. Thirty-five battalion headquarters each received 15 million Riel (approximately US$3,750), amounting to a total of 525 million riels, while the five military units of the province's districts and city each received 5 million Riel (approximately US$1,250), totaling 25 million Riel. The visit highlighted the CRC's steadfast commitment to supporting Cambodia's armed forces and underscored the critical role they play in ensuring national security and stability. It also served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who protect the nation's borders.
