Cambodia Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Through All Channels

Phnom penh: The Royal Government of Cambodia continues to respond actively to Thai military aggression while reaffirming its unwavering commitment to peace through all available mechanisms.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, diplomatically, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held talks yesterday with his Malaysian counterpart to prepare for a special meeting between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai in Kuala Lumpur, as stated by H.E. Chum Sounry, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn also held a phone conversation last night with U.S. Secretary of State, Honorable Marco Rubio, to discuss Honorable Donald Trump's ceasefire initiative, which has been accepted by both Cambodian and Thai leaders.

In addition, the Cambodian foreign minister sent a letter to the ASEAN Secretary-General reaffirming Cambodia's firm position to end the ongoing border clashes through peaceful means.
