Phnom penh: Cambodia has firmly rejected the baseless accusation by Thai forces claiming that Cambodia attacked the Tamone Temple complex. Speaking at a press briefing at 11:00 a.m., Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, stated that the Tamone Temple complex is part of Cambodia's cultural heritage, built by Khmer ancestors and situated well within Cambodian territory as defined by internationally recognised maps.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the temple is located in Oddar Meanchey province, under Cambodian sovereignty. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata emphasized, "There is absolutely no reason for Cambodia to attack or destroy its own property-such intent exists only on the Thai side." This statement underscores Cambodia's firm stance against the accusations and highlights the importance of the temple as a symbol of national heritage.
