Phnom penh: Cambodian forces have strictly respected the ceasefire agreement, and the Thai side must stop misrepresenting the situation or diverting international attention away from its own military activities along the border, said the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC).
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chum Sounry, MFAIC Secretary of State and Spokesperson, reaffirmed Cambodia's call for the immediate establishment of an independent and impartial monitoring group, as agreed during the special meeting in Malaysia, to oversee the implementation of the ceasefire. 'The Ministry reiterates that only through verified facts and open dialogue can mutual trust be restored,' he stated.
The spokesperson further emphasized Cambodia's full commitment to international law, ASEAN centrality, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. Cambodia urges the Thai side to return to a constructive path grounded in mutual respect, transparency, and regional cooperation, he added.
The Kingdom of Cambodia remains ready to work with Thailand, ASEAN, and the international community to ensure strict adherence to the ceasefire and the full restoration of peace along the border.
