Cambodian Cashew Nuts Now Available at Over 16,000 Family Mart Outlets in Japan

Osaka: Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul received a courtesy call this afternoon in Osaka, Japan, from Mr. Taniguchi Kentaro, President and CEO of Mirarth Energy Solutions Inc., accompanied by a delegation from Mirarth Holdings Inc., and representatives of ITOCHU Corporation.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Minister commended Mirarth Holdings Inc. and its partner companies for their cooperation and efforts in enhancing the processing capacity and exporting Cambodian cashew nuts that meet international standards to Japanese and other markets. She encouraged the company to expand its processing capacity beyond cashew nuts, particularly to include Cambodia's Geographical Indication (GI) products.

H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul welcomed the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Commerce and Mirarth Holdings Inc., as well as Memorandums of Understanding between Mirarth Holdings Inc. and five partner companies. These agreements aim to promote the import and distribution of Cambodian cashew nuts into Japan, coinciding with Cambodia National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, held on July 5, 2025.

Mr. Kentaro expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share updates during the courtesy call. He emphasized the close collaboration with the Ministry's Export Promotion Task Force and proudly noted that Cambodian cashew nuts are now available at Family Mart's 16,320 outlets across Japan.

Looking forward, Mr. Kentaro highlighted plans to expand the cashew nut production chain in Kampong Thom province and strengthen cooperation with Family Mart, a core business of ITOCHU Corporation. This expansion aims to explore the potential of importing additional Cambodian cashew nuts and other agricultural products into the Japanese market.
