Cambodian Delegation Successfully Concludes Media Capacity Building Training in China

Beijing: A delegation of 25 officials from the Ministry of Information of the Kingdom of Cambodia has successfully concluded a 14-day media capacity-building training programme in Beijing, People's Republic of China. The closing ceremony was held on Sept. 10 in the presence of Mrs. Ju Hui, Director General of the Centre for Education and Training of Beijing Foreign Studies University.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the training, organised from Aug. 28 to Sept. 10, 2025, focused on modern media management, digital communication, artificial intelligence, and cross-cultural exchanges. It combined lectures, workshops, and field visits to major Chinese media institutions, including China Education Television (CETV), China Media Group (CMG), China Media Museum, Great Wall of China, Temple of Heaven, and Lijiang River, providing Cambodian officials with both theoretical and practical experience.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mrs. Ju Hui praised the Cambodian officials for their active participation. She highlighted that the training had not only deepened knowledge of China's development and media industry but also reinforced people-to-people ties and cooperation between Cambodia and China. 'This programme has allowed us to share valuable experiences and to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two countries,' she emphasised.

Ms. Chhon Navy, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Information and Broadcasting, expressed gratitude to the Government of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce, and Beijing Foreign Studies University for the generous support and warm hospitality. 'We have gained not only professional knowledge but also invaluable experiences that will contribute to strengthening Cambodia-China cooperation in the media sector,' she said at the closing ceremony.

The programme offered Cambodian officials' deeper insights into China's culture, technological innovation, and media development strategies, she added. The capacity-building programme was jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), and the Centre for Education and Training of Beijing Foreign Studies University. It served as an important platform for enhancing professional expertise, fostering cultural exchanges, and promoting practical cooperation in information and media between Cambodia and China.
