Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), declared that the Cambodian people will unite as one when the nation requires their support. “Today’s gathering sends a message that when the nation is insulted or threatened, the Cambodian people will not remain silent. We will stand together and support the Royal Government and the armed forces in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in protecting our national interests and peace,” he emphasized during his address at the Solidarity March held this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this historic gathering aligns with the royal recommendation of His Majesty the late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, ‘Khmer united, Khmer strong’-a message that continues to serve as a foundation for national protection and development. Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many expressed his appreciation for the significant turnout despite the short notice, stating, “This large turnout sends a message to the forces stationed at the border that we are here to support them.”
Tens of thousands of Cambodians from various segments of society assembled early this morning at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh for the Solidarity March. The event aimed to express their unity with the Royal Government’s efforts on border resolution and to show moral support for frontline troops.
Organized by the UYFC, the march commenced at Koh Pich and concluded at the Independence Monument. A grand ceremony was held, featuring a recorded message from Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet supporting the march. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many read a blessing message dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen-Mother on her 89th Birthday (June 18), and nationalism songs were performed to foster a sense of unity and pride among the citizens.
