Kuala lumpur: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet emphasized the significance of enhancing the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) and effectively implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the 28th ASEAN-Japan Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Samdech Thipadei stressed collaboration in advancing digital transformation through the ASEAN-Japan Digital Work Plan 2025 and the ASEAN-Japan Cyber Security Capacity Building Centre. He also highlighted Japan's role in supporting sustainable energy transition.
Both parties expressed anticipation for deeper cooperation in digital, green, and inclusive growth, aiming to establish a more secure, sustainable, and prosperous future.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted that during the summit, Samdech Thipadei and other ASEAN leaders emphasized the importance of a shared vision for an open, transparent, inclusive, and rules-based regional architecture. They adopted the Joint Statement of the 28th ASEAN-Japan Summit on Further Promotion and Implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).
The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Partnership, focusing on three pillars: Heart-to-Heart Partners Across Generations; Partners for Co-creation of Economy and Society of the Future; and Partners for Peace and Stability, to ensure a more secure, sustainable, and prosperous future for their peoples.
