Cambodian PM Extends Condolences over Former Vietnamese President’s Passing

Phnom Penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, expressed his sadness over the news that H.E. Tran Duc Luong, former President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, passed away on May 20, 2025.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian Prime Minister conveyed his deepest condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Cambodia. In his message to his Vietnamese counterpart, H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, he extended his compassion to the bereaved family of the late former President, as well as to the Communist Party, the Government, and the people of Viet Nam during this time of grief.

H.E. Tran Duc Luong is remembered for his dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and his contributions to the development and well-being of the Vietnamese people. The Cambodian Premier emphasized that Cambodia has lost a friend who played a significant role in fostering enduring ties of friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Viet Nam.
