Cambodian Prime Minister to Attend 46th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia This Weekend

Kuala Lumpur: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level delegation to Malaysia to participate in the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits scheduled for May 26-27, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. The invitation was extended by Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of the 2025 ASEAN Summits.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation revealed that Samdech Thipadei and the First Lady, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, will be accompanied by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as other ministers, senior government officials, and business representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

Under the theme "Inclusivity and Sustainability," the Summit will concentrate on advancing ASEAN Community building. It is anticipated to adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, which aims to reaffirm and enhance the region's commitment to a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred ASEAN.

The Related Summits will provide a platform for ASEAN to deepen and expand its relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and engage with both the GCC and China on economic cooperation amidst a shifting geopolitical and economic landscape.

During his visit to Kuala Lumpur, Samdech Thipadei is also expected to conduct bilateral meetings with ASEAN and other world leaders to strengthen and deepen relations on issues of common interest and concern.
