Ankara: The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in the Republic of Trkiye highlighted the taste of Cambodia at a cultural event held in Ankara, Trkiye, as part of efforts to promote the Kingdom's culinary and cultural heritage.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, on May 22, the embassy hosted an exhibition booth at the 'Tea Around Asia and the Pacific' event, organised at the Residence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ankara. The booth featured a variety of Cambodian tea and coffee products, as well as other signature items such as cashew nuts, Kampot pepper, honey, dried fruits, Khmer krama (traditional scarves), and handmade souvenirs.
H.E. Sok Chea, Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Trkiye, and his spouse attended the event, accompanied by Mr. Keo Buntheng, Commercial Attach© of the Royal Embassy. The gathering brought together representatives from 19 foreign embassies, various ministries and institutions, companies, and international organisations.
The event aimed to highlight the unique tea cultures of participating countries and served as a platform to foster diplomatic engagement and promote intercultural understanding.
As part of Cambodia's presentation, the embassy served jasmine tea and two traditional Khmer desserts featured in the Taste of Angkor cookbook: Num Porpeay (glutinous rice with mung beans) and Damlong Chean (crispy-fried sweet potatoes), offering guests a true taste of Cambodian cuisine.
