Phnom penh: H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) of Cambodia, met with Mrs. Kyung-nan Park, the newly appointed Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) to Cambodia, at the ministry's office on August 21 afternoon. During this meeting, Mrs. Park officially presented her credentials.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mrs. Park expressed her appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts in advancing food security and nutrition. She reaffirmed the WFP's commitment to strengthening its collaboration with Cambodia in these critical areas.
In response, H.E. Mrs. EAT Sophea welcomed and congratulated Mrs. Park on her new appointment. She commended the WFP for its significant contributions to Cambodia's development over the past five decades, specifically highlighting the recent provision of 220 tonnes of rice to 4,500 displaced families in Oddar Meanchey province.
