China’s Major Garment Manufacturers Explore Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

Phnom penh: China's leading garment and textile manufacturers have expressed interest in investing in Cambodia, with plans to conduct studies and explore opportunities to establish operations for exporting products to global markets.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the information was revealed during visits led by H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force of the Ministry of Commerce, to four major manufacturers in Shandong province, China, from Sept. 20 to 21.

The four companies include Sunvim Group Co., Ltd., Sinoer Menswear Co., Ltd., Shandong Jinsheng Grain and Oil Food Co., Ltd., and Shandong Yuhuang Grain and Oil Food Co., Ltd. On the occasion, H.E. Samheng Bora encouraged the companies to consider establishing factories in Cambodia in order to take advantage of investment benefits, particularly in enhancing the quality of Cambodian-processed products for the world market.

Sunvim Group Co., Ltd., a large-scale Chinese home textile manufacturer, pledged to send a delegation to Cambodia to conduct a detailed study on laws, labour utilisation, and investment conditions, building on its previous assessments in the country. Meanwhile, Sinoer Menswear Co., Ltd., a well-known Chinese garment manufacturer, also expressed its intention to study and explore investment opportunities in Cambodia with a view to expanding exports to international markets.
