CRC President Donates 150 Million Riel and Aid to Preah Vihear, Pailin Provinces

Phnom Penh: Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), has approved over 150 million Riel (US$ 37,500) in financial aid and humanitarian packages for Preah Vihear and Pailin provinces.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the donation was made to address immediate needs in these regions.

Responding to a request from the Preah Vihear branch, Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen authorized a second round of support: 50 million Riel (US$12,500) and humanitarian relief for 1,000 families. These aid packages, containing essential food and household items, were distributed on June 12-13 in Choam Khsan, Kulen, and Sangkum Thmey districts by H.E. You Lana, Second Deputy Secretary-General of the CRC. Each family received 30 kg of rice, instant noodles, canned fish, hygiene and household kits (including blankets, scarves, mosquito nets), and soy sauce.

Separately, on June 12, Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen approved an additional 100 million Riel (US$25,000) for the Pailin Red Cross branch. This funding will be used to drill clean water wells for frontline soldiers and border residents facing water shortages.

This latest contribution follows a previous donation on April 22, 2025, when Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen provided 50 million Riel and aid to 500 families in Preah Vihear. That earlier effort supported civilians relocated due to border tensions in the Mom Bei region and other vulnerable populations.
