Five Cambodian Taekwondo Athletes Train for Tournament in Germany

Phnom Penh: Five Cambodian Taekwondo WT athletes are training hard for the forthcoming 2025 Summer World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. The update was shared by Mr. Choi Yongsok, the South Korean coach of the Cambodian National WT Taekwondo team, who added that the athletes are training three sessions a day.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the coach expressed optimism about the athletes' potential, citing their accumulated international experiences. He believes that the Cambodian athletes will perform well and are likely to win medals for Cambodia.

The 2025 Summer World University Games are scheduled to take place from July 16 to 27 and will feature athletes from over 100 countries. The event is seen as an excellent opportunity for Cambodian athletes to enhance their skills and gain experience, further preparing them for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December.

Cambodia is gearing up to send 35 athletes to compete in six sports at the 2025 Summer World University Games. These sports include fencing, athletics, swimming, judo, badminton, and taekwondo.
