Phnom penh: France welcomes the progress made during the Sept. 10 meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand and encourages the parties to continue dialogue and cooperation to respect the ceasefire.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the remarks were emphasized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in a statement released this morning by the French Embassy in Cambodia. The statement highlighted France's particular appreciation for the decision of the two parties to work together on clearing landmines along the border.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs also reiterated France's full support for the Malaysian Chairmanship of ASEAN in these efforts to promote regional stability.
