(LEAD) LG Display net loss narrows in Q3 over OLED sales

LG Display Co. said Wednesday its net loss narrowed in the third quarter due mainly to increased production of premium organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays.

The operating loss was 7.1 percent lower than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.

LG Display said it has focused on expanding its business structure and improving operational efficiency. Efforts to streamline workforce management also had an impact on its performance.

The proportion of OLED products in total sales increased by 16 percentage points year-on-year to 58 percent.

In terms
of product types, TV panel products accounted for 23 percent, while those for PC monitors and laptops accounted for 33 percent.
