MCMC, KKD TO STRENGTHEN COOPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTRY’S DIGITAL ECONOMY

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) will continue to strengthen their cooperation and mutual commitment for the development of the country’s digital economy.

In a statement issued today, MCMC said that this was among the topics discussed during KKD secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa’s working visit to MCMC headquarters in Cyberjaya today.

According to the statement, Mohamad Fauzi was also briefed on the main functions of the MCMC as a regulatory body for the communications and multimedia sector, as well as ongoing strategic initiatives and major projects such as the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA), the implementation of 5G and the Role of the Digital Economy Centre (PEDi).

“Other issues discussed were trends and challenges faced by the communication and digital sectors, in addition to monitoring of cyber crimes, infrastructure improvements, and the advancement of technology and innovation in the communication and digital fields.

“MCMC would like to express its deepest appreciation to Datuk Mohamad Fauzi for his dedication and support to MCMC's efforts in carrying out the mandate of Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil,” according to the statement.
