Minister Dith Tina Reviews Rice Harvest and Engages with Modern Agricultural Community

Kampong thom: Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, H.E. Dith Tina, led a delegation to Kampong Thom province to observe the ongoing rice harvest and engage with the Baray Tang Kok Modern Rice Farming Community in Baray district on July 21. During his visit, Minister Tina commended the community's dedication and strong work ethic. He specifically highlighted their collaborative efforts with the private sector, which is set to purchase high-demand rice varieties such as Sen Kra'ob 01 and Srongae Sral.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the community, comprising 178 member households, is preparing to cultivate 5,000 hectares for the upcoming planting season. With existing support for production capital, technical assistance, and market access facilitated by the modern agricultural community framework, Minister Tina urged the community to partner with relevant ministries, institutions, and provincial authorities. This collaboration would explore the potential for the community to manage state-owned water pumping stations, aiming to ensure adequate irrigation, reduce operational costs, and promote the sustainable maintenance of these critical facilities.

In his closing remarks, Minister Tina encouraged continued trust, honesty, solidarity, and transparency between the community and the private sector, emphasising the importance of shared benefits. He reaffirmed the Ministry's steadfast commitment to supporting the community's ongoing growth and long-term sustainability.
