Phnom penh: H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, engaged with 16 Cambodian students who have been awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship. The meeting, held on August 20, focused on preparing the students for their upcoming academic pursuits in Hungary.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the students are set to depart for Hungary to further their education. H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, representing Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, commended them on their significant accomplishment. He encouraged them to dedicate themselves to their studies to acquire knowledge and experience that would benefit Cambodia's development. Additionally, he provided practical guidance on adjusting to life abroad.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining good health, preparing for Hungary's colder climate with appropriate clothing, and adapting to new dietary habits. He advised the students to be ready for both academic and everyday challenges in their new environment.
H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron highlighted the excellence of Hungary's educational system, particularly in fields such as science, engineering, and agriculture. He urged students to be active participants in class, ask questions, and employ effective study techniques like lesson summarization.
Moreover, he encouraged the students to engage in cultural exchanges while preserving their Cambodian identity. He stressed the importance of patience in adapting to new surroundings and managing time and finances wisely.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the significance of discipline, ethics, and adherence to the law. He asserted that academic achievements should be complemented by strong moral values and responsible conduct.
