Ministry Launches 2025 Photo Contest Celebrating Cambodia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has officially launched the 2025 Photo Contest under the inspiring theme 'Together Promote Intangible Cultural Inheritance.'

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, entries will be accepted from July 14 to Oct. 5, and participants are invited to share meaningful memories and striking images that reflect the vibrancy of Cambodian culture.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and appreciation for Cambodia's intangible cultural heritage, encouraging conservation and celebrating the rich diversity of local traditions through photography.

A curated selection of outstanding submissions will be showcased from Oct. 24 to 30 at the Khmer Kite Museum in Phnom Penh.

The contest features three recognition categories, which are the top three winners of the best submissions, the three owners of the most-voted photos, and 54 honorary photos.

Each selected entry will receive a trophy, certificate, and either a financial or non-financial prize.

Cambodian nationals are invited to submit five original photos of 10 MB each that depict aspects of the nation's intangible cultural heritage.

While foreign photographers may participate, their entries will be displayed exclusively for exhibition purposes and will not be eligible for competition.
