Nay Pyi Taw: Myanmar observed World Population Day with a ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw, emphasising the role of population data in national development, the state-run daily, Myanma Alinn, reported yesterday.
According to Nam News Network, Vice Senior General Soe Win, addressed the event. He announced that Myanmar will soon hold free and fair multi-party general elections. He highlighted that the population data obtained from the 2024 census will significantly contribute to ensuring that the rights of all eligible voters are protected.
Soe Win further explained that the data will play a crucial role in conducting the general elections in a fair and orderly manner. It will also ensure the accuracy of the voter list, which is essential for the electoral process. Additionally, the population data will be instrumental in guiding relief efforts in cities that were affected by a strong earthquake in March.
