Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Environment has kick-started two digital platforms, E-Admin Phase 2 and Chakra STEM App, to foster the efficiency of its work process and tree-planting campaign. Minister of Environment H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth presided over the launch of the digital platforms on May 22, with the participation of representatives from relevant government ministries and institutions and development partners.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the minister considered E-Admin Phase 2 as a historic milestone for the ministry to accelerate the dissemination of its policies and administrative documents more effectively and efficiently. The platform will ensure transparency and accountability by reducing complicated procedures and accurately recording and tracking the process to facilitate centralised data management.
The E-Admin is expected to contribute essentially to improving the ministry's services and addressing environmental issues guided by its strategy's three angles: building digital administration, expanding dissemination, and strengthening policies to make Cambodia clean, green, and sustainable.
The launch of the Chakra STEM App was made possible through a partnership between the ministry and the STEM Education Organisation for Cambodia, led by its Executive Director Ms. Eang Nithijounie. The online application, created by Cambodians, will be used to locate the trees planted and track their growth, ensuring an effective tree-planting campaign by the ministry aimed at contributing to reducing carbon emissions and achieving a carbon-neutral Cambodia by 2050.
