Phnom Penh: H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, received H.E. Xu Kunlin, Governor of China's Jiangsu province, and his delegation on May 23 to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for increasing direct flights between major cities in Jiangsu and Cambodia's key tourist destinations, aiming to enhance tourist flows from Jiangsu to Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both parties agreed to jointly promote Cambodian tourism more actively among residents of Jiangsu province, aligning with the objectives of the 'Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025.' They also pledged to collaborate closely on organizing joint tourism events in 2025, both in Cambodia and China. One of the highlighted events is a Cambodia Festival in Jiangsu Province, designed to showcase Cambodia's cultural heritage and tourism potential.
The festival also aims to encourage Jiangsu-based investors to explore opportunities in developing tourism products in Cambodia. Such initiatives, as stated by H.E. Minister, will receive support, protection, and incentives from the Royal Government of Cambodia. Additionally, both sides will coordinate Familiarisation Trips (FAM Trips), inviting prominent media representatives and social media influencers from Jiangsu to visit Cambodia. These visits are intended to amplify the international visibility of Cambodia's tourism assets through modern digital and media platforms.
