Phnom Penh: The Plug and Play Cambodia office was launched at the AUPP Technology Centre of the American University of Phnom Penh this morning under the presidency of H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the official launching ceremony was attended by Mr. Jupe Tan, Managing Partner for Plug and Play LLC in the Asia-Pacific region, along with other distinguished guests, including leaders from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the president, representatives from educational institutions, and digital technology companies-with approximately 220 participants in total.
In his remarks, H.E. Chea Vandeth stated that the official launch of Plug and Play Cambodia demonstrates the Royal Government's strong commitment to building a more robust digital startup ecosystem in Cambodia. This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation while positioning Cambodia as an attractive and leading hub for digital startups in the region, he stressed.
Furthermore, H.E. Minister highlighted that this collaboration will open doors for Cambodian digital startups to attract foreign investment opportunities, create jobs, and expand networks with business partners, academic institutions, and global experts from Plug and Play-including those from Silicon Valley, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
According to MPTC, the launching ceremony also included panel discussions on key topics related to investment opportunities and the business environment in Cambodia from national and international speakers.
