H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo Holds Working Meeting with Director General of Bulgarian News Agency

Sofia: H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Bulgaria, held a working meeting with Mr. Kiril Valchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) in Sofia today. The meeting focused on enhancing media cooperation between the BTA and the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), Cambodia's national news agency.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), established in 1898, is marking its 125th anniversary this year. In 2022, BTA and AKP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the exchange of information and strengthen bilateral media relations. During the discussion, it was highlighted that BTA has regularly sourced key news from AKP, publishing two to three stories per week.

These articles cover a wide range of topics, including politics, society, culture, tourism, education, and the economy. To date, BTA has published nearly 700 articles sourced from AKP. Ambassador Chea Chanboribo emphasised the importance of continued diplomatic missions aimed at deepening cooperation between Cambodia and Bulgaria.

He reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to expanding collaboration in tourism, culture, education, and economic sectors for the mutual benefit and growth of both nations.
