Rural Development Minister and WVI Cambodia Director Discuss Strategic Collaboration

Phnom Penh: H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, welcomed Mr. Janes Imanuel Ginting, National Director of World Vision International (WVI) in Cambodia, for a courtesy visit and working discussion at the ministry's office.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the minister briefed Mr. Ginting and his team on the Royal Government of Cambodia's Vision and Phase 1 of the Pentagonal Strategy under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. The strategy focuses on five core pillars: Growth, Employment, Equity, Efficiency, and Sustainability, with priority areas including People, Roads, Water, Electricity, and Digital Technology, aiming for high-income economic status by 2050.

H.E. Chhay Rithisen outlined achievements and priorities guided by the ministry's Five-Year Vision of building prosperous, livable, and resilient rural areas. The vision includes strategies for infrastructure development, community health, economic diversification, and institutional strengthening. The minister emphasized the role of 'model villages' in reducing rural-urban disparities and fostering socio-economic development.

The minister reaffirmed the commitment to cooperation with government bodies and partners like WVI to achieve rural development goals. In response, Mr. Ginting expressed gratitude for the meeting and acknowledged the partnership with the Cambodian government since the 1970s. He reiterated WVI's collaboration in education, health, and other key areas, praising the ministry's strategic direction and pledging continued support.
