Preah vihear: The Samdech Techo Medical Team, under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Ly Sokhey, Executive Director, and representing Lok Chumteav Hun Mana, Chairwoman of the team and Director-General of Bayon Radio and Television, delivered free medical services to residents at Wat Po 5000 Safety Centre in Kulen Thbong village, Kulen district, Preah Vihear province. This initiative, aimed at assisting those displaced due to ongoing security measures, took place on July 6.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the team also provided essential supplies donated by Lok Chumteav Hun Mana to support families relocated to the pagoda's safety centre. The event witnessed participation from Mr. Sok San Dara, Deputy Governor of Preah Vihear, local authorities, armed forces personnel, Cambodian Red Cross youth, and members of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) in Kulen district, along with a significant number of residents.
H.E. Dr. Ly Sokhey highlighted that the free healthcare initiative aligns with Samdech Techo Hun Sen's dedication to citizen well-being, especially for displaced individuals. He emphasized the medical team's commitment to supporting both the armed forces and their families who have transitioned to safety zones while maintaining the nation's territorial integrity.
Dr. Ly Sokhey expressed gratitude towards the Preah Vihear authorities for their collaboration in ensuring the mission's success. Deputy Governor Sok San Dara acknowledged the efforts of the Samdech Techo Medical Team, guided by Lok Chumteav Hun Mana, and appreciated the medical supplies provided to aid the displaced residents. He noted that the healthcare services received positive feedback from residents, contributing to their improved well-being during their temporary stay.
The seven-hour operation, conducted from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., included a wide range of services: 170 gynecological consultations and treatments, 114 obstetric and ultrasound examinations, 124 dental check-ups and treatments, fluoride application for 213 individuals, distribution of 10 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, provision of 20 large trash bins, 120 kg of cleaning soap for restrooms, and 50 toilet cleaning kits. Additionally, medicine and dental hygiene kits were distributed to 2,500 people, alongside 50 sets of coconut brooms and tongs to enhance sanitation.
This mission reflects the Samdech Techo Medical Team's ongoing commitment to public health and community resilience, demonstrating solidarity with families temporarily relocated for their safety.
