Senate President and Khmer Will Party Discuss Cambodia’s Development Prospects

Phnom Penh: The President of the Cambodian Senate, who also leads the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), engaged in discussions with members of the Senate from the Khmer Will Party (KWP) to exchange insights and outlooks on Cambodia's development.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met with the KWP leadership, including senate members H.E. Sok Hach, H.E. Seng Mardy, and H.E. Kong Monika, at the Senate Palace on April 28. The discussions covered various sectors critical to Cambodia's growth. Topics included expanding the nation's agricultural potential, enhancing the real estate sector, identifying competitive advantages and market niches for local products, and diversifying from garment manufacturing.

The meeting also addressed improvements in care services for senior citizens through online platforms and new technologies. Other essential services such as water supply, electricity, transport, and human capital development were part of the comprehensive discussions. The participants acknowledged the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia, led by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and the resilience demonstrated in Cambodia's socio-economic growth.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for the productive dialogue, noting that while individuals and political parties may have different perspectives, the shared goal of serving Cambodia and its citizens remains paramount. He emphasized the role of Cambodia's multi-party senate in maintaining peace and political stability, aiming to graduate from the United Nations Least Developed Country status by 2029 and achieve upper-middle-income status by 2030.

The KWP leadership praised Samdech Techo Hun Sen's leadership and affirmed their commitment to placing national interest at the forefront of their efforts, expressing readiness to contribute to Cambodia's development.
