South Korean Ambassador Concludes Tenure with Cambodian Senate President

Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, received a farewell visit from H.E. Park Jung-Wook, outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia, at the Senate Palace this morning.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Park Jung-Wook highlighted the steady growth of relations between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea and acknowledged Samdech Techo Hun Sen as a key figure in strengthening bilateral ties. The ambassador reflected on the close cooperation between the two nations and Korea's contributions to Cambodia's development during his tenure. He particularly noted Korea's financial support for infrastructure development, including the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge project connecting Phnom Penh's Night Market to Arey Ksat in Kandal province, which he hopes will break ground early next year.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen commended the ambassador's active role in promoting Cambodia-Korea relations and recalled that the official re-establishment of diplomatic ties in 1997 was initiated under his leadership. The Cambodian Senate President also expressed satisfaction with the continued expansion of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, and investment.
