Spokesperson Refutes Claims of Senate President’s Departure from Cambodia

Phnom penh: Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has not left Cambodia, confirmed Senate Spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith this afternoon.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chea Thyrith dismissed claims by some Thai media outlets that Samdech Techo Hun Sen had departed for China, stating clearly that the Senate President remains in the country. The spokesperson underscored that Samdech Techo Hun Sen is currently overseeing the Cambodian armed forces as they engage in self-defence activities in response to Thailand's military actions on Cambodian territory.

The clarification from the spokesperson follows reports in Thai media suggesting that Samdech Techo Hun Sen had flown to China aboard a private jet. H.E. Chea Thyrith's statement aims to dispel these allegations and affirm the Senate President's presence in Cambodia amidst the ongoing regional tensions.
