Cambodia: Cambodia has exercised its right to self-defence to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity following an armed assault initiated by Thai military forces, according to Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence. The armed clashes took place along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Oddar Meanchey province, the Spokesperson pointed out.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, 'Cambodian forces acted strictly within the bounds of self-defence, responding to an unprovoked incursion by Thai troops that violated our territorial integrity,' underlined Lieutenant General Maly Socheata.
