Phnom Penh: Mr. Lucius Daniels, Asia Director of The Report Company (Newsweek), has commended Cambodia for its sustained peace and stability, describing it as a strong foundation for socio-economic development and a magnet for investors and tourists. His remarks came during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Daniels briefed the Premier on a new promotional report project that will spotlight the Royal Government of Cambodia's (RGC) vision and key achievements. The report will cover the Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1, efforts towards economic growth, tourism promotion during the 'green season,' and strategic initiatives aimed at transforming Preah Sihanouk province into a multi-purpose economic hub and the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port into a regional logistics centre.
Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei expressed appreciation for The Report Company's initiatives, especially its role in boosting Cambodia's international visibility. He also acknowledged the publication of his interview in Newsweek and welcomed future interviews with leaders of various ministries and institutions for the upcoming report.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to creating an attractive, flexible, competitive, and realistic investment environment. He emphasized significant infrastructure projects such as the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, the Sihanoukville Deepwater Port, the Funan Techo Canal Project, and Techo International Airport as pivotal to enhancing the transport and logistics sector.
Samdech Thipadei also highlighted government incentives designed to encourage investment in supply chains, which will boost Cambodia's competitiveness and support both domestic and export markets.
In conclusion, he reiterated the RGC's broader vision to transform and connect Cambodia's coastal provinces into multi-purpose economic zones, integrating modern industry, manufacturing, services, tourism, and logistics to promote economic diversification and ensure long-term national growth.
