U.S. President Thanks Cambodian PM for Nobel Peace Prize Nomination

Washington: U.S. President H.E. Donald J. Trump has extended his gratitude to Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize. 'Thank you for your kind letters and especially for nominating me for the Nobel Peace Prize,' he wrote in his recent message to the Cambodian Prime Minister.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Donald J. Trump expressed his pride to be a part of the cease-fire deal that ended the fighting and saved thousands of lives. He remarked, 'It was a great honor to speak with you to help end the fighting with Thailand. Cambodia has a long and storied history and culture. I can tell that you are a strong leader who values human life and appreciates peace.' He further underlined that both countries can now focus on prosperity.

On August 7, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet submitted an official letter of nomination for President Donald Trump to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. The Cambodian Premier emphasized that this nomination reflects not only his appreciation but also the heartfelt gratitude of the people of Cambodia for Trump's crucial role in restoring peace and stability at the border between Cambodia and Thailand.
