Pailin: The Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Military Region 5 of Cambodia and the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command of Thailand on Aug. 25 concluded with a positive outcome.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both sides agreed to maintain regular communication between their respective army areas and military regions, and units along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
'They further pledged to resolve all issues peacefully and to avoid any conflicts,' it added. 'Both sides also emphasised the importance of further strengthening relations at all levels in order to build trust and promote good neighbourliness.'
Through this communication, both sides highlighted the positive developments and progress achieved to date, aiming to promote cooperation in all sectors and thereby ensure a return to normalcy.
The extraordinary meeting was co-chaired by Lt. Gen. Ek Sam-Aun, the Commander of Military Region 5 and Vice Admiral Aphichat Sapprasert, the Commander of Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command. The meeting commenced at 10:30 a.m. and successfully concluded at 11:20 a.m. on August 25, 2025 in the Cambodian province of Pailin.
