Beijing: A Cambodian delegation, currently in China for a capacity-building programme, paid a study visit to the China Media Museum at the Communication University of China (CUC), gaining deeper insights into the historical evolution and modern development of China's media landscape.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the visit, the Cambodian delegates visited various exhibition halls that showcased significant milestones in the development of radio, television, and cinema in both China and globally. The exhibits offered a comprehensive overview of the technological, cultural, and institutional transformations that have shaped contemporary media.
Ms. SENG Sovannary, Department Deputy Director at the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), shared her impression of the museum visit. 'This approach reflects a progressive vision of how media can play a constructive role in our society by educating future generations and promoting cultural exchanges, particularly between Cambodia and China,' she said.
The visit was an integral part of a comprehensive programme focused on media cooperation and training. Its objective is to enhance the people-to-people connections between Cambodia and China while fostering an environment of knowledge sharing in the realm of information and communication.
The China Media Museum, officially inaugurated in 2012, is recognised as the country's first national-level media museum. Spanning a total exhibition space of approximately 3,000 square metres, the museum preserves and showcases over 12,000 artifacts related to the media. Its core functions include collecting media relics, hosting exhibitions of broadcasting and communication equipment, conducting historical research, promoting media education and culture, and piloting new media services.
