Phnom Penh: H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, welcomed the Cambodian recipients of the 2025 Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship at the ministry on March 27, ahead of their departure for Japan on April 1, 2025.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the 2025 MEXT Scholarship has been awarded to 31 Cambodians. Among the awardees, 9 will pursue research degrees, 2 are bachelor's students, 10 will undertake technical associate degrees, and 10 are enrolled in technical and vocational training programs.
During the meeting, the awardees requested insights from H.E. Minister Hem Vanndy, who discussed the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MISTI)'s portfolio and Cambodia's national development strategies. He highlighted the country's focus on industrial transformation and innovation-driven growth as key components of its development agenda.
H.E. Hem Vanndy also offered personal advice to the students on living and studying in Japan. He encouraged them to maintain control and fully embrace the opportunities presented by the scholarship, emphasizing the potential benefits and experiences they would gain during their time in Japan.
