Phnom Penh: The Government of Japan has decided to extend additional grant aids of 2,450 million yens (approximately US$17.62 million) to support two development projects in Cambodia. This morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MFAIC, and H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, signed the Exchange of Notes and accompanying documents on the extension of the grant aids.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, about US$13.3 million will be allocated for the Expansion of Phum Prek Water Supply System, while approximately US$4.32 million is designated for the Project of Establishing a Nationwide Continuously Operating Reference Station Network.
"The assistance for the above two projects clearly reflects Japan's steadfast commitment to supporting Cambodia's socio-economic development," underlined the MFAIC.
