JICA Delivers Water Filters to Aid Displaced Communities in Cambodia

Phnom penh: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has donated 220 sets of water filters to the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MISTI) in Cambodia to address the urgent water needs of displaced communities affected by cross-border issues. The provision aims to stabilize livelihoods and guarantee access to safe drinking water.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the handover ceremony was conducted at the MISTI office in Phnom Penh. JICA's initiative is part of its ongoing effort to assist the water supply sector in Cambodia. The agency has been involved in developing water supply facilities through financial aid and enhancing the operation and maintenance capabilities of water supply systems through technical cooperation.

In a press release, JICA emphasized its commitment to collaborating with the Royal Government of Cambodia and other partners to enhance the living conditions of the population. The agency reiterated its dedication to improving access to essential resources and ensuring the well-being of those in displacement sites.
