Minister Dith Tina Leads Delegation to Aid Families Affected by Thai Incursion in Banteay Meanchey

Banteay meanchey: H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Banteay Meanchey province, led a delegation this morning to visit and provide aid to 12 families affected by a recent incursion by Thai troops. The incident occurred in Chork Chey and Prey Chan villages, located in O' Beichoan commune, O' Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Thai troops encroached upon the area and installed barbed wire fencing near the victims' homes. H.E. Oum Reatrey, the Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, and other members of the Royal Government Working Group accompanied the minister during the visit.

During the visit, H.E. Dith Tina spoke with the affected families, urging them to remain patient and have confidence in the Royal Government's efforts to resolve the situation. He emphasised that the Royal Government is committed to a peaceful resolution and maintaining the ceasefire to ensure the residents can safely return to their homes as soon as possible.

H.E. Oum Reatrey confirmed that a total of 12 families, comprising 59 individuals, were affected by the incursion. Among the victims are four people with disabilities and two pregnant women.

In response to the crisis, the provincial governor and relevant officials have provided temporary shelter and food to the victims to ensure their safety and well-being. This immediate action highlights the strong commitment of the provincial authorities and the Royal Government to assisting citizens in need.
