National High School Examination for Academic Year 2024-2025 Kicks Off

Phnom penh: The two-day Grade 12 National Examination for the 2024-2025 academic year officially began this morning across 241 exam centres, comprising 5,924 classrooms nationwide. A total of 146,720 candidates are sitting for the examination, including 81,442 female students. Of them, 40,678 candidates (24,519 female) are enrolled in the science stream, while 106,042 candidates (56,923 female) are in the social science stream.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) has outlined the subjects scheduled for Aug. 28. Science stream candidates will tackle history, biology, chemistry, and foreign languages, while their social science counterparts will be examined on geology and environment, history, geography, and foreign languages. On Aug. 29, science stream candidates are set to sit for Khmer literature, physics, and mathematics, whereas social science stream candidates will be tested on mathematics, morality and civics, and Khmer literature.

MoEYS has announced that the baccalaureate results will be released on Sept. 20 for all the exam centres. In 2024, 106,351 students-equivalent to 79 percent of the total 130,000 candidates-passed the national exam. Among them, 2,216 earned grade A; 9,701 grade B; 22,675 grade C; 36,683 grade D; and 35,076 grade E.
