Phnom penh: H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, met here on July 25 with a delegation from the prominent Japanese multinational corporation MITSUI.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussions focused on exploring potential investment opportunities within Cambodia, with a particular emphasis on the crucial sectors of clean water and electric vehicles.
Minister Vanndy extended a warm welcome to the MITSUI delegation, highlighting Cambodia's attractive investment climate. He underscored the nation's political stability and its expanding market access, which is being significantly bolstered by a series of ongoing free trade agreements.
The Minister also reiterated the Royal Government's steadfast commitment to fostering private sector growth. He pointed to key initiatives like the Skills Development Fund, designed to assist companies in enhancing the capabilities and technical expertise of their workforce.
The meeting served to underscore the mutual interest of both parties in strengthening Cambodia-Japan economic cooperation and advancing sustainable industrial development within the Kingdom.
